Senior Controller

Privatal is supporting a financial services business looking to appoint a Senior Financial Controller to take ownership of budgeting, financial performance and management reporting.

This is a hands on opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders, challenging assumptions and turning financial analysis into clear business decisions.

The role

• Own budgeting and forecasting across revenue and operating costs.
• Analyse performance against plan, explain variances and identify actions to improve results.
• Bring together P&L, balance-sheet and capital-planning considerations to provide a complete view of performance.
• Partner with budget holders to challenge spending, improve accountability and strengthen financial discipline.
• Prepare clear management reporting and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.
• Improve planning processes, reporting quality and financial controls.

Your background

• Experience in financial controlling, budgeting or FP&A within banking, insurance or a comparable financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of revenue, costs and the relationship between the P&L and balance sheet.
• A practical understanding of capital planning in a regulated business.
• Confidence working independently and challenging senior stakeholders constructively.
• A hands-on approach, strong analytical skills and clear communication.
• German language skills would be beneficial but are not essential.
