Senior Accountant (m/w/d) · Markranstädt, Germany

In this role you will own the balance sheet and month-end close for Skeleton’s German entities, coordinating with the Estonian group accounting team. You will prepare financial statements, statutory reports, and tax filings with external advisors, while strengthening internal controls. You’ll lead audits and serve as the primary contact for government bodies and stakeholders. The position combines hands-on accounting with process improvement in a manufacturing context, offering visibility across finance and tax topics. You’ll work on-site in Markranstädt with potential hybrid options, contributing to the company’s mission of resilient, scalable power infrastructure.

Verantwortungsbereiche

• Own the balance sheet and month-end close for two German entities; coordinate with group accounting in Estonia
• Prepare monthly financial statements, annual reports, and local statutory reports
• Coordinate or prepare tax returns and local tax reporting with external advisors
• Review and record accruals and other period-end adjustments
• Lead external audits as main contact for auditors
• Act as liaison for government institutions, external advisors, payroll partners and internal stakeholders
• Identify financial and tax risks and lead on new topics as they arise
• Develop and document accounting processes and policies to strengthen internal controls
• Support stock takes and on-site activities in Markranstädt when needed

Zentrale Anforderungen

• Several years of experience in German accounting, including financial statements and tax reporting
• Experience working with external auditors and tax advisors
• Background in an in-house finance team or in a tax advisory or audit firm
• Fluent German and good working English
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor knowledge is an advantage)
• Experience in a manufacturing or production company is an advantage
