Senior Accountant - Finance & Tax (Bilanzbuchhalter)

Hybrid: two days per week in the office

We’re partnering with an established international business seeking a Senior Accountant with strong expertise in tax and financial statements.

Reporting to the Head of Administration Germany, you’ll take ownership of key accounting and tax activities and oversee one direct report. It’s a good opportunity for an experienced accountant looking for broader responsibility or a first step into people management.

The role

• Oversee general ledger, subledger and fixed-asset accounting.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements under German accounting standards.
• Support group reporting and consolidation.
• Manage VAT returns, statutory filings and tax payments.
• Coordinate annual accounts, tax returns and support tax audits.
• Act as a key contact for auditors, tax advisers and authorities.
• Support and develop one direct report, ensuring accurate and timed delivery.

What we’re looking for

• Around 3-5 years of relevant accounting and tax experience.
• Strong expertise in German financial statements and tax requirements.
• Vocational training in taxation or a comparable commercial qualification.
• A German certified accountant qualification, completed or planned.
• Confidence using DATEV and Microsoft Office; SAP experience is an advantage.
• Fluent German and working English.
• A structured approach and confidence taking ownership.

Previous people management experience isn’t essential- strong technical knowledge and readiness to guide a colleague are more important.

What’s on offer

• €65,000–€85,000 salary, depending on experience.
